How to Pack Spherical Cells Using MoGraph and Volumes

Athanasios Pozantzis shows how you can pack spherical cells without using a cloth solve or soft body dynamics in Cinema 4D.

Packing geometry while looks amazing typically ends up being an adventure in numbers or setups. Athanasios Pozantzis shows us that it doesn’t always have to be the case. His latest tutorial shows how you can pack spherical cells in Cinema 4D using Mograph and a Volume workflow.

The technique lets you create spherical cells that can deform based on when geometry overlaps. That is what gives you that sought-after tightly packed object look. What’s more is that this method does NOT use Cloth or Soft Body Dynamics, making it faster and very controllable. The system also works with animation.
