How to Create a Displacement Effect in Cinema 4D

Jesper Sandell shows how you can use X-Particles to create sand and use a displacement effect to reveal a logo.

A new tutorial from Velocity Peak’s Jesper Sandell shows how to create a sandy look using some of the features of Insidium’s X-Particles. The animation on the sand is a displacement effect that reveals a logo or an image.

Vertex Map and Fields Control.

The movement in the sane is derived from a series of displacement maps. Those maps get animated control using vertex maps and fields in Cinema 4D. Fields are a great way to control a lot of effects in C4D. In the tutorial, the displacement is driving the particles in the X-Particles setup.
