Cinema 4D R23 Adds New Character, UV Workflows, and Much More

Animation, Character and UV Workflows, Magic Bullet Looks Integration and New Scene Nodes System Among the Many New Features.

Some of the excitement around IBC revolves around the anticipation of a new Cinema 4D release. Maxon recently announced Cinema 4D R23 that makes a clear focus of animation and UV workflows and some quality of life improvements.

New Character Animation Tools.

R23 adds a new character solver and a delta mush workflow to assist in rigging and creating characters. A new Pose Manager and new cartoon style template rigs round out the animation tools.

Better Keys.

C4D R23 has some better keyframing features that include filters for the timeline and attributes manager and makes it easier to work with auto-keyframing.

NEW UV Workflows.

Some of the UV capabilities under S22 have moved to the new release. There are also new tools geared toward UV workflows for hard-surface models.

Magic Bullet Looks.

Some fruits from the Red Giant merger makes its way into C4D with Magic Bullet Looks integration. All the features you love about Magic Bullet are now right in your C4D workspace.

New Scene Nodes.

In advance of more core engine development, R23 adds nodes that allow users to explore distributions and procedural Modeling.

Enhancements to Animation, Character and UV Workflows, Magic Bullet Looks Integration, and New Scene Nodes System Among the Many New Features

 

Friedrichsdorf, Germany – September 8, 2020 – In conjunction with their own live, virtual 3D Motion and Design Show and the IBC 2020 conference, Maxon today announced the availability of Cinema 4D Release 23 (R23). The next generation of Maxon’s professional 3D software delivers powerful enhancements to its animation and UV workflows, character animation toolset, and the inclusion of Magic Bullet Looks technology. The introduction of the new Scene Nodes system provides a preview of the performance customers can expect in future developments of Cinema 4D. Plugin developers will appreciate the update to Python 3, and creative pipelines will benefit from the inclusion of USD import/export and updates to FBX and OBJ handling. R23 will be available on September 9th for subscription holders and will be available as an upgrade for perpetual license holders.
