How to Make One Material Grow on Another With Octane

New Plastic shows how to make a material grow in C4D using Octane Render.

A new tutorial from New Plastic shows how you can create some nice-looking growth effects, not with geometry but with octane materials. The tutorial uses a reaction fusion animating pattern as the base for the tutorial.

The tutorial doesn’t cover how to make the classic reaction-diffusion pattern, but it does mention that you can create your own using a thing for After Effects called Alive Tool. “We’ll use beautiful Reaction Diffusion patterns (aka Turing Patterns) to make the material grow in interesting ways.”
