The last tutorial from Alex Cheparev covered how to make a tree and root system on a patch of ground in Autodesk Maya. That tutorial covered the bottom section of the tree, and his new tutorial looks at some clever methods for creating tree branches quickly.
The tutorial shows how you can use joints in Maya to build a small “tree-branch-creating” system that lets you adjust the look of the branches as you make them.
Cheparev uses a Bonus Tool to randomize the rotations of all the joints for a more natural branch and twig look.
