By January 31, 2022No Comments

Nexttut shows how to get started with Maya Bifrost cloth creating a flag animation.

NextTut demonstrates how to use Maya’s Bifrost to turn objects into cloth. This tutorial helps new users start simple cloth animation using Bifrost, showing how to create a realistic and straightforward flag animation.

Bifrost has an MPM Solver that is a ‘catch-all’ of sorts. Maya’s MPM Solver uses a Material Point Method that can simulate the physical behaviors of solids, liquids, and gasses, and in this case, fibers.

Check out this other tutorial from Reza Sarkamari that also shows how to use Bifrost MPM to create a flag animation

While nCloth is a simple and easy solution for cloth, the MPM solver can offer advantages for cloth simulations.
