How to Create a Procedural Walking Creature With Bifrost

Frosty shows how to make a multi-leg creature in Bifrost walk by pulling it along.

You may have seen creating a Mimic effect or a multi-leg creature that appears to automatically place feet on the floor as you pull it along the scene. This new Youtuber “Frosty” tutorial shows how to recreate that effect often seen in Blender Geometry Nodes and Side FX Houdini but within Maya Bifrost. It’s a more advanced auto-walk trick.

The technique uses scattered legs around a surface and LERPs between them as the primary control moves around the 3D scene.
