Roman Boichuk shows how to model those knurled surfaces easily in Cinema 4D.

This new tutorial by Roman Boichuk shows how to model those knurled surfaces in Cinema 4D quickly. Roman uses a tried and true method to create the proper topology for a knurled surface using the Poke Polygons command that essentially triangulates a quad-arranged mesh.

From there, it’s simply a matter of removing the original edges and extruding the newly poked ones. The technique is similar in most DCCs.
