Using Cinema 4D Thinking Particles and Dynamics to Add Sprinkles to a Cupcake

By February 21, 2013No Comments

Stephen Turcotte from MirrorMaze Media uses Cinema 4D thinking Particles and some Dynamics to show some various way that you can add sprinkles to a cupcake model in Cinema 4D.

Although we have seen something similar, albeit a different technique, by Jamie Hamel-Smith who used a cloner to distribute sesame seeds to a bagel, Here Stephen shows how to create the sprinkles adding to the cupcake dynamically.

In this tutorial I explain how to use Thinking Particles and Dynamics to achieve various ways to sprinkle a cupcake

the sprinkles can actually interact with the floor, and the cupcake itself, where some sprinkles will stick and some will just fall off onto the floor. Stephen notes that this is not a technique that can only be applied to this situation, it provides an approach that can be used for various other projects.
