Baking MASH Networks in Maya with the help of SOuP

By August 7, 2013No Comments

Ian Waters takes a look at baking or un-instance a MASH network with the help of SOuP for Maya, providing an example describing a situation where baking out instanced objects in MASH makes sense, rather than bogging down the scene with other solutions.

In this example, providing much more resolution in the guide mesh will solve the problem quickly, however, it does slow the scene down considerably.

Ian using SOuP for Maya to bake out the MASH network to individual objects which will provide a smoother animation, while maintaining viewport speed.

Recently MASH updated to MASH 2.1.3, which fixes some fairly critical bugs, to learn more check here.
