Mark Jackson walks through the LockChannel User interface in the Red9 Studio Pack for Maya, and also covers the concepts behind the AttrMap. Red9’s Studio Pack for Maya is a collection of workflow enhancements for animation, rigging and recently updated to version 1.28 with some changes to the Meta API and pose Libraries.
This one goes through the LockChannelsUI which is fairly self explanatory hopefully. It also covers the concept of the AttrMap which for riggers is a godsend, a way of storing out the status of every channel in a hierarchy and restoring it when needed
The AttrMap is a method of storing the status of every channel in a hierarchy and restoring it at will, which as Mark notes, can be a godsend for people rigging in Autodesk Maya.
