CG Artist Truong Chau Shares a resource asset that was used in his short film, “Forsaken Warriors”. You can download (for non-commercial use) a free Dragon Rig for Autodesk Maya. The rig is a fun one, complete with dragon character that is fully rigged with some advanced features, ready to animate. Included with the download is a scene for lighting and rendering that uses mental ray. The rig also comes with all of the dragon’s texture resources.
The free dragon rig can be used with Maya 2012 and up, using concept Art by Jaemin Kim, (I assume, with permission). You can use the dragon rig for non-commercial use, such as personal projects, animation practice, 11 Second Club animations, and demo reels.
