Glenn Frey surprises with a little known feature in R20 that can help visualize UV projections in the viewport.
Maybe you’ve noticed since Cinema 4D R20 there is a new attribute called projection display under the texture tag settings. Perhaps you turned this one, or maybe you have not but remain curious as to what it does. Well, Maxon’s Glenn Frey shows that the setting, when checked will allow you to visualize UV projections right in the viewport.
If you have anything other than UVW projection mapping set for the texture tag, you can then show a widget in the viewport that can help you visualize UV projections. You can even change the display style to show a UV grid and how it’s projected on to your object. Great tip!
