Daniel Danielsson shows how you can create the “Interstellar” black hole effect pretty easily in C4D.
A new tutorial from Daniel Danielsson works through creating a black hole effect with Arnold in Cinema 4D. The tutorial covers creating the gravitational lensing and the event horizon using only two simple spheres.
Black Holes in 3D.
The effect is a simple one to recreate in 3D. It all comes down to extreme refraction settings and a Fresnel effect. “A couple of spheres and an insane variable Index of Refraction setup, then you’re done!,” Danielsson says about his tutorial.
