How to Build Splines in Maya Entirely With Matrix Connections

Cole O’Brien shows how to make Matrix Splines in Maya.

Autodesk Maya 2020 included new matrix-driven transforms and operation nodes, making it possible to clean up many rigging setups. That translates to fewer node spiderwebs, cleaner rigs, neater outliners, and faster evaluations for artists. Over the last year, Cole O’Brien experimented with building splines entirely out of Maya’s matrix connections and details his findings.
