Lee Griggs shows how to create a realistic ocean that uses a vector displacement map with Arnold and a neat transmission effect.
This new tutorial from Autodesk’s Arnold Rendering Specialist Lee Griggs shows how to create a realistic ocean scene using a polygon plane, an HDR image, and some render settings. The ocean uses a vector displacement map and a few other tricks to nail down that realistic water look.
The magic of this scene comes from tweaking the transmission settings in the Arnold Standard Surface.
