How to Create Random Combinations of Objects by Cloning on a Matrix Object in Cinema 4D

By September 29, 2023No Comments

Athanasios “Noseman” Pozantzis shows how to randomize sets of objects by cloning on a matrix rather than a model.

Let’s say you want to clone groups of things but randomize each object in those groups. In Cinema 4D, that will involve a Cloner Object, but not in the way that you would initially think.

Here, Athanasios “Noseman” Pozantzis (@nosemangr) shows an example that will place a random flower in a random vase and on a randomized table. A clever way to facilitate this is by Cloning on a Matrix Object.

A previous tutorial saw Pozantzis demonstrating how to sort clones using Fields. The tutorial covers working with the Plain Effector and the “Modify Clones” parameter, all run through a Linear Field in the scene. Visit that tutorial here.
