How to Avoid Pinching in 3D Models

Elementza shows how to avoid pinching on 3D models with high curvature surfaces.

Pinching when modeling can be a real pain in the poly. We’ve likely all seen a pinch or two in our lifetimes, and while they are easy to identify, they could be a challenge to eliminate.

Usually, pinching will happen where you get poles or stars on a curved surface, but it can also occur in other situations.

Here, Mario Brajdich (Elementza) runs through a couple of scenarios of where and how pinching on a model’s surface may occur and offers a few tips for getting rid of those pinched surfaces.
