Jason Hill covers advanced Arnold Hair shader techniques showing off many great tips.
The last few tutorials from Jason Hill all dived into creating hair for characters in the most realistic way. The previous two showed how to make real-time hair from an Xgen hair groom, both in Marmoset Toolbag and Unreal Engine.
The latest tutorial shows how to make more than standard shading setups in Arnold with the standard Arnold Hair shader. Hill covers some top-notch techniques in color, materials, and workflows using Maya Xgen and Arnold. It’s interesting to note some minor differences between the two xGen workflows in Maya, down to Uvs.
You can find a complete process of the techniques shown here on J Hill’s Patreon.
