Easy Paint Peeling Effects with X-Particles Fragmenter

Every thought about what would be involved to create a paint peeling effect in C4d? It’s actually not that bad using X-Particles and its Fragmenter Object.

quick tutorial on how to use the x-particles fragmentor object for peeling effects

X-Particles is the leading particle tool in Cinema 4D with good reason – offering plenty power and options, along side an extremely streamlined workflow. X-Particles can create complex effects easily, largely due to how the plying is set up.

Insydium’s Mike Batchelor shows how to peel off a layer of an object, revealing a copy of the object underneath. This can easily be done with X-Particles thanks to its Fragmenter. X-Particles has a built-in tool that is geared towards fragmentation effects. The Fragmenter is part of six generator objects embedded in X-Particles including the Emitter, Object Generator, Sprite Generator, Trail Generator, and Skinner object.

The Fragmenter object operates in two modes, able to affect either entire objects or an object’s faces. While in face mode, the X-Particles Fragmenter can generate the faces of an object as individual faces. Running the X-Particles fragmenter in object mode will generate particles for existing objects in the scene and allow you to control them with X-Particles powerful particle engine.

More than the Just X-Particles Fragmenter

X-Particles has had quite a few tutorials that really show off the power of the plugin and how useful it can be in production. Check out how great having a tool like X-Particles can be rather than using the standard particles in C4D.
